Canada, eh!

After a couple of weeks travelling in the states in LA and NYC it was nice to finally arrive in the city that I was going to settle down in for a few months! Right from the minute I arrived, it seems the myth is true – Canadians really are the nicest people you will ever meet! So friendly and helpful!
I’ve only been here for a few days, and just started the orientation process so it’ll be interesting to see how classes are compared to at home. From first impressions though, Ryerson seems to be rather similar to UTS (especially from an aesthetic point of view). It’s got a wondrous brown tower right in the centre of the city, that is now being covered up by new renovations of innovative and modern architectural design buildings. The Image/Arts building where I’ll be spending most of my time is decked out in all of the latest technology, dark rooms, film equipment and has a new gallery for student works to be seen.
I’m looking forward to experiencing everything Toronto has to offer! There is still a lot to see and do – Niagra Falls, eat poutine and see a game of ice hockey just to name a few!
