Global Short Program in Paris

Spending part of my 2025 university break in Paris as part of the Global Short Program was one of the most enriching and exciting experiences I’ve had. From the moment I arrived in the City of Light, I knew this would be a trip filled with learning, culture, and unforgettable experiences.

The academic component of the program was incredibly well structured. The university’s facilities were modern, clean, and comfortable, making it easy to focus and engage with the material. The course content was not only relevant to my studies but also applicable to other scenarios, which made the whole experience even more worthwhile. One of the standout aspects of the program was the staff. Every lecturer and coordinator I encountered was friendly, approachable, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping us get the most out of the course. Having that kind of support made a big difference and created an encouraging learning environment.

Outside of the classroom, Paris offered its own form of education. The city’s history, culture, and pace of life were eye-opening. While the weather did keep us on our toes, with 37°C days quickly turning into stormy nights, it didn’t stop us from exploring. From visiting iconic sights like the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre to wandering through charming neighbourhoods and sampling all the local pastries, each of these moments felt like something straight out of a movie. A personal highlight was the PSG Stadium tour, which is suited for any football fans like myself.

The nightlife in Paris was also something special. Whether it was rooftop bars with breathtaking views, late-night cafés bustling with activity, or spontaneous riverside hangouts with other students, the city truly came alive in the after hours. These moments helped me build new friendships and immerse myself in the Parisian lifestyle in a way that’s hard to put into words.

Reflecting on the experience, I walked away not just with academic credits but also with a deeper appreciation for other cultures, specifically France here, independence as an international traveller, and memories that will last me a lifetime. I highly recommend it to anyone else considering the program.
