Loughborough Uni

It has been just over 3 weeks since I arrived at Loughborough University, and already I’ve had so many new experiences.

The first two weeks of uni is ‘Freshers Week’ which is basically a two week orientation for all new students. Everyday was packed full of activities, sport comps and theme nights (Smurf themed punch party and the Hall ‘Sing Offs’ among the best of them). It was a great way to get to meet other people at the uni, and I’ve been able to make good friends with both UK and international students.

I’m staying in on-campus accommodation in the hall ‘Hazlerigg Rutland’ (or ‘Rigg Rutt’ which it is affectionately known as now) which has been lots of fun. I’m living with seven other really nice students in my flat, and being a self-catered hall I’ve realised just how average my cooking skills are..

Classes are now properly in full swing (I am doing electives from the English and Drama department, so have been doing a lot of Shakespeare – all part of the English culture) and on the weekends I’m managing to do lots of exploring with friends around Loughborough town and Leicester (Nottingham is next on the list!).

Already this exchange has been a totally new adventure for me and I can’t wait to see what lies in store for the rest of it!

    Thanks!
