London Calling….

Image

“But the weather is horrible in London…”

I’ve lost count of the number of British people I’ve meet that have looked at me like I’m crazy when I tell them I moved from Australia to London for an exchange. But those people who write off London for its weather are seriously missing out on the magic that is this city!!

I read a blog once that complained about out-of-towners calling London “London-town” but the author seriously missed the point – this metropolis of over 8 million has the feel of hundreds of self-contained townships which have their own character, their own style and their own charm. There’s South Kensington with the museums, white fancy terraces and ‘old money’; Shoreditch with its hipster trends and American inspired diners; The City with its lawyers, bankers and wine bars.

Samuel Johnson said “when you’re tired of London, you’re tired of life” – and, living here you can understand why. Despite hundreds of tube rides, walks, buses and cabs I still feel like I’ve only just scratched the surface of what London has to offer.

Here’s the to the next two months getting lost in London!
